I agree that most games suck and the lowest common denominator is often catered to etc.
One of the few gaming genre's that is actually improving is PC racing sims....but most people think GT5 and Forza are sims.

I don't disagree, but am wondering about the basis of your position. Honestly, I think there are multiple reasons they are driving product development in that direction. Some, I think, are good reasons. And others are the absolute worst.
