They should call it Doom 3: Fuck you in the ass edition because this is the biggest rip off ever known to man. I have no doubt in my mind that ID Software is desperate for cash after the huge fucking bomb that was Rage, coupled with the fact that Bethesda is one of the worst money sucking publishers in existence. Read my fucking review to learn what you get in this SHIT BOX DELUXE.
Let me just start off with a quote from what the fucking game includes:
"The BFG Edition features enhanced graphics, better sound with more horror effects, a checkpoint save system, and support for 3D displays and HMDs. The game also includes the previous expansion Resurrection of Evil and a new single player expansion pack called The Lost Mission. Additionally, it includes copies of the original Doom, and Doom 2"
Better graphics? I was estatic to think that they redid the whole game with high resolution texutres and brand new models. No. Enhanced graphics is a fucking BULLSHIT LIE, the game looks exactly the fucking same with LESS graphical options in the menu. In fact that is about the only difference is that the menu in this game is different from the default menu but the graphics are the same stupid bullshit from before with terrible looking models and low resolution textures splattered all over the fucking place. There are mods out now that change the look of the game into a NEW world and make it look fucking spectacular. Why was none of that shit included in this shitbox? You get the same exact fucking graphics except Carmack decided to add in 3D SUPPORT. WOW. FUCKING AWESOME. Additionally, they got rid of the console and lowered the FOV of the game. Yeah, nothing says enhanced like lowering the field of view from the original game to some shitty console FOV. Don't be fool by this dick sucking horse shit, the graphics are the same.
So how about the sound? It's the same fucking terrible sound effects as well except now they finally released it in 44khz instead of the shitty ass 11 or 22khz that the original game files had. An improvement but something I could have done with mods over 6 years ago. The flashlight? Again, the same fucking bullshit that I could have done ages ago with a mod, except now they added it in to the game. About the only new content that you really get out of this game is the Lost Mission which is relatively short and incredibly fucking mediocre, not worth the cash in the slightest.
So how about that Doom 1 and Doom 2 included with the game? Also, another fucking scam. First of all, everyone on the planet already owns this game and all they get with this version is a pile of shit which cannot run anything but one resolution, no mouselook, and no fucking enhancements at all. How long has fucking zDoom and Doomsday been out? They couldn't have included one of these source ports which does 100x more? This BFG edition is nothing but a sloppily slapped together pile of rhino cum. It is a scam. It is a cheap scam for cash because id software hasn't produced a game worth a fucking shit since Doom 3. Avoid this crap.

The same enemy startle bullshit over and over, sudden demon jumps on you after you open a door 100 times until you're singing along in total boredom. They also use the same push button then enemies spawn trick tons of times, and if you see a weapon on the ground you better expect some old and tired floor collapses into a pit with zombies thing, it's almost funny how old this turd got. The whole flashlight or weapon mechanic was pathetic.
The best thing about Doom 3 was the panels for messing around but the gameplay was just too predictable and plain fucking boring. id soft has lost their touch more than a decade ago. |

in 2004 you had Far Cry and HL2 which were and are infinitely better than this and the only reason you would play it now is nostalgia but who wants to play such a fucking genericy grey corridor shooter in 2012 except cunts. |
