Re: Half-Life 2 (Score: 0) by Anonymous on Wednesday, January 05 @ 03:22:32 EST | Doom 3 defined the terms 'restrictive' and 'claustrophobia'. I hesitate to call it a FPS since there's little ability to dodge enemy attacks in the 10x10 room you're usually in. And pitch black rooms. And some distant future where they don't even have flashlights on their guns (old technology even these days). And a supposedly 'badass' marine who is unable to weild both a light and pistol simultaneously.
All FPS I've played are linear. A game like HL2, that tells a story, is leading you to an ending, just as a movie or book does. Would you call a book or movie linear? |
