Amazingly, I got the demo in one hit from Gamershell.com{1.8gig}, but you can also get it from Steam{Steam has a built in download manager}.
Whilst it's been consolized, it's still good.....the weapons aren't clunky and sound good.
I'll be buying this when it's released cause I like this type of game, however, it doesn't really advance PC gaming much, if at all, but's it's head and shoulders better than the Persee Mandate fuck up.
I think I rated HL2 ep2 about 7.7/10, so this will be about the same I suspect.....remember, it takes quite a bit to get to 8.5 using my system, so don't think this is crap, but it's not really next gen in anyway....just a good old fashioned FPSer.
It's not very demanding on hardware either.

Is there still the rampant faggotry of the original where getting shot made your view spin around like a drunk retard at a pinata party whilst the enemies just took it like a man and had their accuracy completely unaffected despite not being super-soldiers like you?
And are the non-shotgun/penetrator/pistol weapons not shit as crap anymore? I remember the HKSL8-looking rifle was fucking useless since it fired in three round burts that did about as much damage as quarter of a pistol bullet and the SMG had a half-second lag after pulling the trigger, whilst the pistols killed any enemy in the game in about three shots and the shotgun made most enemies explode into a red mist.

I thought the weapons were good, the shotgun is a bit different this time round though.
I think I only has access to 4 weapons.....but the sniper rifle blows their head off.
Make no mistake, it's been consolized, but I'm hopefull it won't matter that much as the graphics, lighting and sound are all good.....in fact, I prefered the FEAR2 demo to the COD4 demo.
Get yourself a Steam account and you can dl the demo without worrying about whether the 1.8gig will abort on you, as Steam has a dl manager.

I rated HL2 ep2 as 7.7 and Crysis at about 8.2 from memory.

I liked all the guns in FEAR 1 with the exception of the SMG. I found they did the right amount of damge. Now in Turok, the guns are garbage, cuz the enemies soak up bullets like a sponge.
Bioshock also had some weak weapons, I found the shotgun to be too weak considering it's a fuckin shotgun
