ID Asshole: "We'll just give all the monsters a bajillion hit points, and have them spawn right next to the player whenever he's in a small, enclosed space with nowhere to dodge. Also, we'll put the bosses in tiny 'cage-match' type rooms, and they'll do a trillion damage whenever they hit you, while you can only do maybe 10 damage with your best weapon. They won't need AI!"
