Sick of people saying publishers pay reviewers to bump up scores. I actually worked as a tester for a dev company once (ReadyatDawn) and was pretty friendly with the PR division. Everyone knows everyone in the PR circles at publishers/developers and none of our guys ever bribed reviewers, the most they were guilty of was a free review copy of the game (standard practice) and the odd bit of free stationary and mugs on visits. They said even companies like Activision don't do that kind of shit and it used to piss them off when people accused them of it just because they didn't like a review score.
