I'm halfway chapter 4 now, and while I agree that chapters 3 and 4 are certainly less good than chapters 1 and 2, they are by no means as bad as, for example, the final third of Bloodlines, for example.
I'm almost 60 hours in or so, level 26, so this is not a short game but much shorter than Gothic 3.
