it's not always bad to have the same graphics. especially when it comes with a game that has a great art design. for example after fallout 1 i was totally happy with it's sequel actually felt great that it's the same (the game was given some bad reviews complaining about the graphics). i can visit exactly the same world which i love but for a brand new adventure. and that's what i wanted after i finished the first episode.
so the daughter companion takes our conscience? that's bad.. who want's to play as a harvesting daughter running away from enemies behind a big daddy? but as a mutant.. that would be cool. play as one badass psycotic lunatic and band with other crazies. wreak havoc in rapture kicking in windows and clinging from chandeliers among the way. (with elements of mirrors edge maybe)
