Furthermore, given that the support gun overheats, is slow, has a pissy fire rate, no accuracy, and does fuck all damage, you'd expect that they would of at least given it a single positive point other than "that melee weapon which takes ammo and does less damage than the knife".
Gun balance issues like this are a huge problem with BF2 and the main reason that I don't play it anymore (the other being that it's noobificated; the accuracy of weapons and damage they do per hit is an example of this. It's not as bad as counterstrike, but still allows total noobs to win because of luck against good players who actually understand how to aim.)
