Just installed and also updated to cat 9.4 so hopefully no major issues await me.
The Suislide review, or the one submitted to VGA rates this games as 3.5/10......now bear in mind I've bought this game at bargin bin prices, but I'm thinking it's more of a 7-7.5.
Graphics are outstanding.....but are moreso gorgeous rather than gritty realism, but that said, much better than the Far Cry2 turd and also better than FO3.
Weapons are good, they're a shitload better than the turds in the 2006 BIA, and they have a reasonable sound to them, including the pistol,..... that mofo is effective.
Game isn't too clunky , although I've always hated WW2 weapons, and I've found the controls to be fine+ they're remappable.....also, you can jump/leap over stuff and it uses a cover system.
The game has a eerie sense of realism about it but gameplay isn't phenomenal.

the last ww related game i played was like 5-6 years back. the industry need to pull out the Stukas from their gunpowdered smelly asses and move on to other themes.

Totally agree....I much prefer a modern weapon with variable fire rates, a scope, and the feeling that I could take out any Mcdonalds with it.

I find this games biggest problem relates to it's weapons and what I describe as poor hit detection, even if it might be realistic when shooting at people from 40mtrs, but then again, it seems a bit inconsistent with awarding head shots, and it sometimes does a VATS when you score a head shot.
Believe it or not, and despite the amazing graphics, I had more fun playing GRAW 2006....or maybe I've just played too many PC games lately ....I definately won't be getting COD WAW or any other WW2 shooters anymore, the weapons are a let down.
I'll give top marks for graphics and character animation......AI isn't too bad either.
I don't think I'll do a full review, it'll probably just come in at 7/10.

You know what game had a really shitty gun in it, Far Cry 1
I loved the game, but the shotgun was shit. I don't care if the guy has a helmet on, if I shoot him in the face with a shotgun, I expect him to die.

The first 2 brothers in arms were pretty much boring shit. They just had nice looking maps. They really annoyed me how they kept telling me to SURPRESS the enemy like it was some fancy game mechanic that should blow my mind.
This one has a pretty cute cover system and again, nice maps. So it works i guess. You can play it when you're really bored.
And now for a rant on the WW2 shit, ignore if you're lazy.
I killed more nazis than the entire allied army. People are retarded or simple in the head. Either way, they need repetition. I just don't fucking understand this. I mean it's not even equally sided, you play the allies 90% of the time. Over and fucking over.
And when you play the nazis you don't get anything interesting. Just some random army fighting against some other army. Easily switched between them. I don't remember playing as the nazis and getting orders from hitler saying "KILL THOSE WOMEN AND CHILDREN" or anything. It's just "high command" or something.
Oh the guns, it's not that they're shitty like someone said. I don't care as long as i'm not tired of them. I'm fucking sick and tired of the mp40, mg42, the rifle that shoots once before needing to be reloaded (every side has one and you start the game with it), the same rifle but now with a scope.

At least the game isn't broken or as fucked Far Cry2 ended up being, but the gameplay doesn't really thrill me.
I basically hate all WW2 weapons, especially that rifle with one shot in the chamber.......which backwards country built that POS?

That wasn't really a game. Just a sand simulator. That's all i remember anyway. Just brown. One of the ugliest big budget game i've played.

WWII theme is politically correct enough (provided you only can play as allies or if you could play as axis, that part extremely short and bland) to be the choice for Teen Rated FPS until the end of days. They also tried it with arabs but they can bomb-suicide in your face anytime and their nations get pissed off with games and movies like "300" where they are depicted as evil.
