Actually now I remember how I found this site with the help of google. One year ago or so I got a little bored of playing video games and got a little disappointed with them. So I just entered video games suck on google and found this site. Of course I didn't think that all video games suck back then, it's just the fact that I enjoy entering stuff with "sucks" after at google and read the web pages that come up. I hope it's not something that Dr Shrink might have an opinion of.

I got here in november 2004 when someone posted a link to the HL2 review in the comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action newsgroup. I've been reading the reviews here ever since. I registered a few years later in order to be able to post a comment.
I did not bother to look at the forums at all because I don't like forums in general (I prefer newsgroups). But once I did I noticed these forums have some resemblance to newsgroups: few kiddo's, no animated avatars, no flashy advertisements and no moderators. That is to say there are moderators, but they restrict themselves to the absolute minimum.
This restriction to the absolute minimum however has now changed. There now suddenly seems to be a rule that if you create multiple accounts, the moderators will publish this. I think this is a step in the wrong direction.

We don't have a RULE about it; suislide and I have never talked about it.
Personally I think its more fun if its not revealed unless it gets out of hand.

Care to explain? What is the problem exactly with clones in a forum where fun is so important?
And how could it be prevented in the first place? Filtering on IP-address does not work because IP-addresses are often shared and/or dynamic. Filtering on email address already happens. Cookies are easily deleted. So what other options are there?

It simply means the potential exists for him to do so if he chooses...
You'd have to ask him why he did it and if he'd do it again.
