I posted about the Morrowind Graphics and Sounds Overhaul a while ago and now that I have a new PC with better hardware I can run the current iteration of that overhaul (version 3.0) at max settings. So I have started a clean playthrough with it and let me tell you it is the most amazing total overhaul of any game I have ever seen.
The fact that people did all this for free, and someone organized it into an easy installer that anyone can use regardless of modding experience, is amazing.
I'm not saying this makes the game look like Crysis, but in certain areas with all the new flora, water, reflections and "god rays" this game approaches Far Cry 2 or 3 in overall beauty. That is to say, the OVERALL picture you get with all the new sounds and visuals is so well put together that it is at LEAST as pleasing as Oblivion if not more. Oh, and the faces are now better than Oblivion (which admittedly is not saying much since Oblivion's faces look like painted eggs).
The best part? The gameplay is the same. OLD SCHOOL GAMEPLAY WITH ALL THE MODERN PRETTIES!!

Sounds very interesting, if I had 100 hours of time to spare I would certainly not mind replaying this game.
