Steampowered my ass. This is the most idiotic system ever. It's worse than blizzard. I've bought New Vegas Ultimate Edition in it's materialised form so I got it on dvd and it requires me to register on this hunk of feces. I fuckin payed for this, then I have to valiadate my claim to play this shit, prove THEM that I'm authorised to play this game? WHO ARE THESE FUCKS? And it started downloading it instead of just installing it from the disc. When I stopped and tried again, finally made it to run it from the dvd, but then it started the install and it's not only bereaving me of chosing where I want to put the game, IT DON'T EVEN SHOW ME where the fuck it installs those gigs. Fuck this shit, I payed for it at least let me chose where I want to install it. Not to mention that it STILL downloads this shit AFTER I installed it from the disc. And there is an OFFLINE MODE? HOLY SHIT! Don't fucking tell me I have to be online to play my game. That's like I have to beg for them each time to fucking allow me to use a product I fucking PAYED for. WHY THE FUCK DO THEY STAND BETWEEN GAMERS AND THEIR GAME? We don't need any authority to decide if I can play my game or not. I fucking bought it, I play it when and wherever I want, even if I'm at the fucking MIR space station or in a submarine 78625926 miles below sea level.
Fuck happened to the old days where you bought a game and then could play it without the fuss?? I accepted to see all these meaningless bullshit, advertisment is pouring on me like a fucking avalanche thanks to steam and I don't even get the chance to be in control in the slightest.
Fuck this bullshit, this was the last time I gave a chance to play games the normal way like a good honest law obiding consumer fool, I'm torrenting the game, steam can suck my dick. Talking about pirating ruining business, when they throwing tons of obstacles in front of people who gives a fuck and wants to give them their earnings. I'm using the rest of my money to travel to gabe newell and bash his lardass skull all over the concrete. I will stomp on it's maggot brain and crush it beneath my feet like rotten grapes.

I have never pirated a game but I share the sentiment.
I would have expected any reader of this forum to be aware of the downsides to Steam and similar systems though, it has been discussed many times before, e.g. here.

I pirate tons of stuff, but I also buy heaps of DVD/BD, and if something I dl is good, I look to buy it on bluray, so think of TVunderground as demo's of TV shows.
That said, I haven't pirated a game for ages.
Another thing, could the disc version of Vegas be out of date wrt patching, if so, maybe that's why steam wants to dl/update.

i pirate some games every now and then just to see how they are and if one's worth buying. i downloaded new vegas too just to try it and sometimes there is no difference or very little, but in this case, the retail version runs much smoother. same applies to skyrim.
but now sometimes a stema window pops up mid-game informing me about various shit. and i don't even care about achievements even if i'm kind of a completionist especially when it comes to rpg-s i want to bring out the maximum of mycharacter and the game. but idiotic goals like repair 4000 times and take your first step are lame and keeeps you away from getting into the game and... well, roleplay.

FO3 GOTY on very hard is good shit, harder than some old tactical shooters I'd played, lol.

1. Steam rocks socks, if you don't like it then you are probably some faggot who still thinks that installing a game from optical media is AWESOME. That shit is dead, time to get with the future.
Additional, Steam adds a billion other things that add value to my game. The simple fact that I can hit Shift Tab and talk with my lame ass friends about shit is a huge plus. Also, eat my wang.
2. Fallout 3 is a piece of shit from Bethesda that deserves all hatred towards it. Fallout New Vegas is superior in every aspect because it is actually created by a company who knows how to write. Chris Avellone spread his ass cheeks and took a shit right into the mouth of the cancer that is Bethesda.

This garbage is constantly updates itself every fucking week with at least 80-100 Mb FOR WHAT?! For fucks sake, in a couple of months my computer gets updated by a FUCKIN GIG without any actual change in the program, I seriously wonder WHAT THE FUCK gets on my comupter.
