my dear humble peasants................it was one of those slit second impulsive decision that great kings often make, obviously i am talking about buying a new gaming pc.
so here is my new rig arrives this weekend, some details
ASUS X99-E WS mobo
INTEL CORE I7 5930K
my current mobo intel extreme DZ77RE-75K has only 2 sli and drops to x8 link speed. The new x99 chipset on my new mobo will allow one to go max of 4 SLI at x16 link speed uncompromised!!!! while the difference b/w x8 and x16 matters not much for single screens often owned by the common gentry....it certainly will be a much needed boost for my IPS dell u3011 30" surround setup on which i play at a native resolution of 7680x1600......it will be 3 SLI gtx970 on them. Already have 2 SLI, so simply a matter of dropping one more to get that fluid creamy experience.
exciting isint it ? yeah and so will eventually need to sell my current gaming rig on ebay, bit of a pain. but pointless having 4 pc's.

i type from my new rig now....such a satisfaction to see in the bios the ui graphics of PCI slots with x16 reported on them as the link speed. downloading farcry 4, got a free coupon with the hardware purchase. Also got AC 4 unity coupon as well.
currently i have 2 main rigs. one of gaming and one more for work ie software and music production
The music production one was built around nov last year. It config is
Mobo GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD7 TH ATX R
PSU XFX|PRO1250W P1-1250-BEFX R
CPU INTEL|CORE I7 4790K 4.0G 8M R
MEM 8Gx2|GSKILL F3-2400C10D-16GTX R
SSD Intel|SSDSC2BP480G4R5 x4 on Raid-10
HD 1T WD WD1002F9YZ 7K x4 on Raid-5
The other 2 rigs are retired now. The olddest was built in 2007 or something. The other was built 2 years back as a gaming PC. I sports the intel extreme 2x SLI board on the unlocked i7. dont remember the details. Can get it for you if you are really interested.
