(User Info | Send a Message) | I guess it is the whole world in which the Gothic games play that is appealing. The Gothic games suck you into this world as only the very best games seem to be able to do (no game matches Outcast in this respect though). You might need to give it more time. Honestly, if I could afford the luxury to take a week off work so that I could continue to play this game for a week on end I would.
BTW there are still a few enemies in this game that you cannot beat from the outset (at least I couldn't). Ogres with these longreaching hammers are even now still too hard for me (maybe I should try to use the shield more), as well as the dragons you can run into only a few minutes into the game. That is also one of the appeals of this game: knowing that you cannot beat every enemy you run into so every new enemy you run into is to be dealt with with consideration. |
