(User Info | Send a Message) | The original Fallout had a pretty low level also, and a pretty short mainquest if you stuck to it alone. Keep in mind also you can finish Fallout 2 in roughly half an hour or less.
Fallout 1's locations were well designed, but Fallout 2 had overall pretty poor writing and a lack of well-designed locations - instead you ended up with a bunch of theme areas and retarded shit like one single town having 99% of the world's crime and hookers and a kung fu town filled with jackie chan impostors.
And the skills removed were shitty ones anyway - Outdoorsman, Traps and Gambling? Fucking useless. Most of the gambling in F2 didn't even take the gambling skill into account for rolls. A bigger issue is the removal of traits.
Overall Fallout 3's main problem is its' lack of good writing. The atmosphere is at least partially there, but the lack of actual roleplaying is the problem.

(User Info | Send a Message) | following just the main quest in fallout1 would be ATLEAST 12 hours of gameplay, what the fuck are you going on about? its atleast 3 times longer then the main quest in fallout 3. following the main quest if fallout 2 is atleast twice as long as fallout1. as you can(not) see, bethesda totally ruined the trend of the fallout series by shitting out diesel fuel ontop of it and dragging its ass across a few matchbooks.
so excuse me for seeing fallout3 as the generic dulled out game that it is. keep encouraging game devolopers to buy out a classic series and turn them into console profit machines at the cost of your soul. i hereby ban you from any video game that kicks ass. may your penis be caught on oprah whinfreys dinner plate the next time you play anything on a pc ever again. |

1,2, and Tactics are garbage compared to the masterpieces that are Fallout 3 and New Vegas. |
