(User Info | Send a Message) | a movie ticket costs around $11, a dvd version of a movie costs around $15. these are hi budget projects also involving a great deal of ppl from different disciplines. would you still say $30 is a steal or bare robbery?
there is no need for any game to be worth more than $25.
sure crysis is a great game, but the engine is already done, so no r&d cost are involved any more since the last port. sure the engine is optimised, but that is code tweaking not a major rewrite. soon there will be different sequels of crysis, so they are going to charge each at the same price? and then they spend their extra $s on piracy prevention, if only they would set the price right. get your face off the asses and look around. anyways most of it retains the original flavor of the game, so where is the need to price it at $30?
the answer is greed, plain greed which we consumers must be aware and make a choice. the choice i make is i will buy it only it when it comes to $20. i urge you all to restrain. if everyone restrains then the sales will go down and the price too. we need to change this trend in the industry of hi priced games.
if gaming was not a hi budget project, then less and less idiotic managers would run the show and more creativity would flow in games. more the billion$ profits are, more the worthless piece of shit managers will be recruited. so clearly you as consumes are in a way responsible for the "truly a work of shit" games produced.
