Re: Mass Effect 2 (Score: 1)

Mass Effect 2 was Fable 2 in space. And I mean that in the worst possible way.

The game's selling point is it's a dating simulator with guns. That's really it... if the game wanted to be cinematic, they should've hired some decent writers to portray the collectors, the reapers, Cerebus, and Shepard as the concepts of existentialism, nihilism, and abusrdism all battling it out. But no... instead it's just a whole lot of nothing. No resolution, no character development, basically the game comes down too who you chose to fuck, and if you felt like doing the planet mining mini-game long enough to upgrade your ship so everyone doesn't die. (Or do their retarded sidequests but considering there's a sort of time limit on that EHHHH)

The game is just all over the God damn place and is one of those franchises that thinks it's being edgy but could not be any more complacent to the status quo. (Like Deadpool. The character not the game. I haven't played the game thank God...)

And the fanbase of Tali exists only because every girl they meet irl is a thot like Miranda or a cunt like Jack. The fact is Tali would be terrible seeing as she's basically just some internet girlfriend you can't touch. So even as a dating sim it's pretty bad.

The thing is there's just SO MANY bad games, Mass Effect as a whole isn't worth mentioning. I don't play games for some riveting movie plot or top of the line graphics. As long as I can tell one enemy from the other and it isn't all one giant blob of grey and pixels, (which is no promise even in modern gaming...maybe ESPECIALLY in modern gaming...) it's fine. My main issues are how it portrays itself and it's core mechanics that makes gameplay bearable. Mass Effect does have some decent leveling mechanics where levels come naturally and you are not bogged down by grind at all. (Unlike say... Borderlands.)
