SPOILERS BELOW!
Great review, though you didn't mention anything about the Normandy flying off from the battle in the end. So while Shepard is struggling half-dead to beat the Reapers, Jokers swoops down to Earth, leaving his allies behind, picks up Shepard's crew, and flies away giving the middle finger to everyone, all in 15 minutes. So my crew just abandoned me for no reason after all we have been through?! WTF?!
To top it all off, no matter what you do, the Galaxy is fucking doomed any way. Destroy the reapers, all geth die, including you because you are partly synthetic (same would go for the Quarians, would it not?), yet if your military rating is high enough, you see a short scene of Shepard breathing in the end, lying in what appears to be London still. WTF?
Control the Reapers, and you stave off the harvesting for now, but they will still be back in another 50000 years IIRC. And you still die. WTF?
Or synthesis, where you force everyone to become both organic and synthetic against their will, so that there will be peace apparently. Peace against your will, that's just awesome! Oh, and you still die. WTF?
Not to mention that the Mass Relays getting destroyed means everyone is stuck on earth, which means they are pretty much screwed. Earth is devastated, all aliens are cut of from their own homeworlds and cannot help rebuilding them...
No matter what you do, you get a bad ending that doesn't make any sense! You die either way, and the galaxy would be pretty much as doomed as they would have been if they had let the Reapers harvest them all.
And your crew crash lands on some random planet after fleeing from the battle looking very smug about it, no one even mentioning Shepard at all. WTF?
I don't need a fucking puppies and sunshine ending to enjoy it, though I would have liked that as a choice. I just want an ending that makes some kind of sense and gives me an option to do what I want to do, which is to punch the fucking space child in the face and go down fighting the reapers or kill them and save the day, with some closure to what happened to the rest of the galaxy afterwards. I was given none of those.
Seriously, I hope BioWare is just trolling us with this bullshit ending of sparkly colours and that they will make the real ending as DLC (free, hopefully, but doubtful). If they don't, I'm just gonna make up my own happy ending sitting on a fucking beach with Garrus shooting beer cans while Tali is making me a sandwich.
