I love all of these little Rockstar groupies that have excused his 8 month PS-XBOX exclusivity time saying they do it that way so they can improve the PC version and fix all bugs before launching.

I think this game more than any other is very sensitive to how you install, but also how you configure the game so as not to exceed memory usage etc.
The wankers spent 200k on DRM and here I am, a legitimate paying customer holding off from purchase...LOL.

A platform change won't stop the game being shit really. Maybe a few more sequels and GTA will be as good as San Andreas again.

The game requires that you have all the latest service packs, .net bullshit, online activation etc, but also, it seems to heavily favour quad cores, and the cores don't have to be fast, they just have to be there, so a fast overclocked dual core will be slower than a medium speed quad.
The game is very heavily focused on CPU and Video ram, ideally wanting 2 gigs on the GPU, but a 1 gig 9800GT/4850+ a quad should do the trick.
That's not to say that this game release hasn't been botched, it's probably the worst blockbuster fuck up ever.

Just had a glance at the user opinions over at Gamespot, and man are those guys pissed

I can't be bothered to find the link, but gametrailers reviewed the PC version of GTA IV, and they mentioned in passing the criticism of its steep system requirments, and even then, they brushed it aside as affecting only a few angry gamers, which begs the question, exactly how disillusioned Geoff Keighly really is.
I recently watched the movie from which this footage was taken ("der Untergang"). I am no movies fan at all but I thought the movie was impressive.
I could not help but wonder what would have happened if Hitler had gotten nukes at that time. If the movie depicts him accurately (it seems it does) then no doubt he would not have hesitated to nuke Berlin itself.

This game is quite shitty.i used to be an avid fan of the series until SA(NICE FEATURES,GOT BORING AFTER A WHILE) and VICE CITY STORIES(VICE CITY IS THE BEST)
-your actions+story contradict each other
-gfx are ok,although quite dull.
-only 1 character (little jacob)stands out,even if he is the token blackie
-Free-roam my ass! Despite it being 'Realistic' you still are barred from crossing the border(to their credit you can,but 5 star warranted)
-how is it possible that after I end a call and I call the same guy,his phone is off? shit design there
-Girlfriend nags too fucking much nuff said
